Our parish children acted out the Nativity and sang hymns for our annual Children's Live Nativity on December 15, 2018. They dressed in costumes and practiced for several weeks before the performance. A little learning, new friends, and lots of fun ensued! Congratulations on a job well done!
The Gingerbread House Workshop hosted by our Youth Ministry (SPYM) was a HUGE success! Over 40 children participated in the event with 30 SPYM teens helping the children create the houses, paint holiday masks and run activities. New friends, lots of fun, loads of candy, and a Gingerbread masterpiece to bring home! What could be better?!? Merry Christmas!
Santa made an early visit to St. Patrick's on Thursday, December 13, 2018 for Tiny Tot Thursday. He read a book and then the children worked on a craft. Tiny Tot Thursday is held once a month for children ages 2-5 in the school Makerspace and is open to the public! Special visitors this year include a Chatham Borough police officer, fireman and now Santa Claus! Ho, Ho, Ho!!!
Fr. Kamil has taken over one of the pastor's most important jobs...picking out the annual rectory Christmas tree! Fr. Kamil and our maintenance supervisor, Mike Bunero, selected this year's rectory Christmas tree today. Enjoy the pictures attached!
Thank you to the combined choirs of St. Patrick Parish and Church of Christ the King especially to our Music Ministers Maggie Hanson and Elias Scultori! The concert was once again a HUGE success and the many, many hours of practice (which began late summer) provided for an amazing performance! Please visit the parish Facebook page for videos and pictures! Congratulations on a job well done!
Doing some shopping? Did you know that you could help support our school by shopping at establishments you already shop with? Purchase "scrip", gift cards at face value, to use at your favorite stores. Each store gives St. Patrick School a percentage of the dollar spent back to the school to use for various programs and initiatives.
The Peace Light arrived today, December 5, 2018, thanks to Troop 28 Boy Scout, Luka Batljan. The Peace Light is lit at the grotto in Bethlehem and it makes its way to the United States from Vienna where it is transported in blast proof miners' lamps to JFK. Luka shares this beautiful light with many of the churches in Chatham. This flame will be used at our Christmas Eve 11 pm mass where attendees will be invited to distribute the flame among the parishioners present, lighting the way for the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who is the Light of the Universe.
Thank you to the many parishioners who participated in the Christmas in a Box and Giving Tree programs. Your generosity will bring much happiness and love to those in need making their Christmas merry and bright! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
