May 4 & 5 is our monthly food collection for the Father English Center in Paterson. The most needed items at this time are: coffee, tea, peanut butter, jelly, pancake mix, syrup, and laundry products. Donations can be left in the priests' garage after all masses on May 4 and 5. Liturgy of the Word with Children and Children's Church will meet every Sunday through May 5. These programs are offered at the 9:30 am Sunday Mass for children from preschool through grade 2. After the opening prayer, the presiding priest will invite the children to the altar for a dismissal blessing. Leaders will accompany the children to classrooms below the church for listen to age-appropriate readings, singing and reflection. Younger children hear a bible story and color. All children return to their parents as the gifts are brought to the altar.
Parents of children preparing to celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist this spring, check your calendars! Our Jesus Day retreat is this Saturday, April 27! Children will make a banner for their pew and most importantly, will practice receiving communion so they will know what to do when they are called to the Table of the Lord.nformation has been emailed to parents. Join us for one of our Appalachia Information Meetings on Monday, April 15 at 7 pm in the Parish Center or Sunday, April 21 immediately following the 5 pm Mass in the Parish Center. Kwanghyon Thomas Ko and Emily Ariana Villagran celebrated the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil and now enter the period of Mystagogy, the fourth stage of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
